The Slicer – Slice Up Files into Smaller Pieces
Review by on
Did you ever try to send a file via the internet, only to discover that your email client has a file size limitation and your file far exceeds that limitation? Or did you try to send a file via your instant messaging client only to discover the file is too big to send through? It is something that has happened to all of us at some point. So what do you do? You do what I always do – turn to software and see if there is an application out there that can lend a helping hand.

And of course there is a helpful application out there – like CrashCourse Software’s The Slicer. What this application will do is take a large file and slice it up in smaller chunks. You can send those chunks, then put them back together to get the original file.

There is much to like about this application. Starting in a logical progression, here are the bits and pieces you will like. First up you will like that the download weighs in at less than 1MB, meaning it will take no time at all to get The Slicer off the web and onto your computer. Installing the application will take little time as well, which is also something you may like.

Once The Slicer is up and running, you will like it for the functionality it provides – it has been created specifically to split large files into smaller files. And you will like that access to this functionality is never more than a right click away. That’s right, the application integrates with the right click context menu.

Last but not least, you will like that you can use The Slicer free of charge for as long as you want. The application is freeware, so it doesn’t cost a thing. To my mind freeware applications are simply the best.

The Slicer is a free, easy to use application that will slice up your large files into smaller chunks.

Pros
  • Lightweight download size
  • Easy to use
  • Freeware

Cons
  • None that I could think of
